What's A California Conservative?
Well, I am still learning but low and behold I found out that I was really a conservative all along, I just didn't know it. I was the type of voter that was patriotic but didn't have a clue on what was going on in government and how important our vote really is. It's really important to study politics and learn what is going on in government because it affects us, our nation, our children and future generations so much. It's not just about voting for someone you "think" is good. You have to know what you're doing. That means study, learn, seek the truth.
I voted this way and that way, however the wind blew. I registered Republican, then Democrat, then back to Republican all along not knowing what I was doing. So for the past two and a half years I have been doing my homework. I find that all along I was really a conservative. Maybe you are too!
As a Christian that does not mean I throw the baby out with the bath water. There are different types of conservatives I have come to find out and I don't like any of the categories. You're either a conservative or not. They like to categorize and I am still learning. I believe that we as Christians are to be compassionate and give and help the needy when we can. And even when we can't seem to give what we would like, then we give what we can and sow seeds and pray.
Just because I am a Christian and a conservative does not mean that I have to be put in a category. I'll be back with more to say but for now this is a good start.
